I can relate to your post, my wife died only three weeks ago, after having declining health over the last 6 months. There are lots of good suggestions in the responses here but make sure all of your financial papers are in good order, that all of your online IDs and passwords are known to your spouse. The one thing I'm most thankful for is that we spent a lot of time doing things we liked together during the last few months. I found it very therapeutic to go thru the pictures of our travels to put together a slide show to display at the funeral home.
It may be difficult but try to enjoy your time together. I found this quote on a slip of paper beside my wife's computer, I think it applies very well.
