You might be correct. It's not proper to have a fat middle age white guy, that sort of looks like Fred Flintstone, as your figurehead in 2019. :S :B - wanderingaimlesExplorerTruth in advertising laws forced it's removal?
- westernrvparkowExplorerI cannot begin to tell you how much I hope that is true. The fat white guy might have been a great logo in the 50s, but in today's world it is a huge turn off. Good Sam sends us a great bit of marketing materials and any with Fat White Sam immediately gets filed in the circular file. The Good Sam universe already spends waaaay too much in marketing dollars chasing the Redneck White Guy (all the NASCAR sponsorships). The potential RV market is goes much beyond Bubba and Friends.

Gotta have diversity. Maybe they'll put RuPaul on there. They can cover about 3 bases going that route. - DutchmenSportExplorerBefore it all, it use to be "Open Roads" when under the umbrella of the Affinity Group. Maybe, to be PC, they should go back to the old Open Roads logo.
A long long time ago, this web site sold RV.net merchandise. My wife purchased a shirt for me. A few years later, we found a source that still had original Affinity Group Open Roads polo style shirts. She bought me another one, as the first one was wearing very thin and getting raggedy. I don't wear this one, except on very rare occasions hoping to keep it for a long-long time.
For everyone that goes back to the early 2000's or beyond, this will jog your memory:
No, it's not for sale, and it's not negotiable for any trade item. Sorry folks. I'm keeping it. - westernrvparkowExplorer

Would you be more or less likely to patronize a business that did use RuPaul as their mascot? If that truthful answer is less, then the logo might be costing that company business. Now if the business is "Drag Queen Fashions and Accessories" it probably isn't losing much business. If the business was a hardware store, it might cost it a lot. I believe the RV business is just a much larger market than fat white guy and because of that I think a change is a great idea that has been too long in the making.westernrvparkowner wrote:
