Before it all, it use to be "Open Roads" when under the umbrella of the Affinity Group. Maybe, to be PC, they should go back to the old Open Roads logo.
A long long time ago, this web site sold RV.net merchandise. My wife purchased a shirt for me. A few years later, we found a source that still had original Affinity Group Open Roads polo style shirts. She bought me another one, as the first one was wearing very thin and getting raggedy. I don't wear this one, except on very rare occasions hoping to keep it for a long-long time.
For everyone that goes back to the early 2000's or beyond, this will jog your memory:
No, it's not for sale, and it's not negotiable for any trade item. Sorry folks. I'm keeping it.
Wow!! Deja Vu!
I have one of those shirts, identical to that. I don't wear it often either. I also have 2 T shirts, and a couple ball caps, all with the same logo.
Nice! :)
And I may as well add, like you, not for sale. :B- WVcampgroundExplorer

Would you be more or less likely to patronize a business that did use RuPaul as their mascot?westernrvparkowner wrote:
I cannot begin to tell you how much I hope that is true. The fat white guy might have been a great logo in the 50s, but in today's world it is a huge turn off. Good Sam sends us a great bit of marketing materials and any with Fat White Sam immediately gets filed in the circular file. The Good Sam universe already spends waaaay too much in marketing dollars chasing the Redneck White Guy (all the NASCAR sponsorships). The potential RV market is goes much beyond Bubba and Friends.
Gotta have diversity. Maybe they'll put RuPaul on there. They can cover about 3 bases going that route.
I would visit it more, honest answer. And I am a fat redneck middle aged heterosexual white guy that watches Nascar.
I bought some Dicor the other day. The fact that their front man is a fat middle aged fat bald white guy named Rudy who looks sort of creepy did not factor into the purchase decision. - 2012ColemanExplorer II

Then they should take down the links to insurance and CW RV sales. I'd guess the Profit could not make enough profit from T shirts lol.
Maybe you're special and thats why you still have the old logo? Are you fat, white, and middle aged?:B - Jayco25EExplorer

Very true. Businesses need to change with the times or be left in the dust. Even the Big Boy restaurant chain downsized their fat white boy mascot, acknowledging people's desire for healthier food choices. - FlatBrokeExplorer III always thought that “Sam” looked like a goof ball. Never put the sticker on anything.

If your a lifetime member you get the old logo. The retro logo doesn't bother me. I remember when Sonic had a retro logo as well. How about the KFC spokesman for brand recognition.
