- brdpreyExplorersomeone made the comment im 56 and dont care.
i agree with him.
campers that bag on trailer owners have yet to:
-wake up in an unexpected down pour and your stuff soaked, you tent leaks from every stitch and you family is doing nothing but complaining its cold.
-caught pneumonia enough times from the wet or cold ground.
-has not gotten to the part when sleeping on that cold ground you body hurts for a week because your either out of shape or age is starting to creep in.
-has yet to have a snake cuddle up with them.
-has yet to have a bear come to a self serve banquet on their behalf.
-has yet to have an elk urinate on their tent.
-has yet to go out at 2 am to pee and a mountain lion announces its presence wich sounds like feet away.
-has yet to have their kids leave any food out that brings in who knows what.
-prob likes to sleep on sand and dirt in the tent since kids love to go in and out at the most in opportune times of the day.
the list just keeps going
but im jumping on that age thing. fk the cold ground. i like being able to move. that is why we ........ok she made me because she is worse then i about body aches. if she is happy, your happy. - NYCgrrlExplorer

I'd like to know why one needs to know the difference between camping and glamping in order to buy a Class C???
Probably because someone tried to guilt them into thinking that owning a CLASS C was not "real" camping, and called it "glamping."
Actually, from reading all the posts and all the various web sites, if you own your own RV and use it anywhere, you are REALLY NOT glamping! Because true "glamping" involves doing NOTHING but arriving and being catered to by "servants" of some sort or another, so the customer can pretend they are are King and Queen for a day or two.
If you camp, or RV with your OWN RV, Tent, or whatever, YOU are NOT glamping, because YOU have to set up your camp, tear down your camp, dump your own tank, fix your own meals, and make your own bed.
Glamping is a combination of a 5 Star full service Hotel will all the bells and whistles, where you snap your fingers or make a phone call and you have immediate room service, food, the local news paper, a fresh towel or whatever.
When you own your OWN RV, YOU do all this yourself. So... REALLY, owning your OWN RV and using it is NOT glamping, unless you bring along your own servants and they have their their own quarters on the next campsite over so they are at your beckoning call! Then, you would be "glamping."
Your definition of glamping is what the "five star" glamping resorts want you to believe from a marketing POV:).
Glamping re-started in Europe probably the UK during various 1990's music festivals and evolved from there. It was certainly DIY in the beginning with Victorian era camping as it's guide. For this continent think of Teddy Roosevelt's or the Edison, Ford and Firestone, Burroughs's AKA "The Vagabonds" campsites. - pennysmom09Explorer

I still call it CAMPING because I own a CAMPER. LOL! There's always someone out there trying to stir up the people.
Haha, you are so right, there is always some one willing to "push buttons". I feel sort of silly when I refer to our rather luxurious 5th wheel as our camper, but it is what it is! - chops1scExplorer III still call it CAMPING because I own a CAMPER. LOL! The blogger brought all the gear up into the Medicine Bow area via 4WD and back pack. Seemed to have a fine time fishing and hiking for 12 days:
Insider's Guide to Glamping - CrabbypattyExplorerIts a made up term that allows those who think we are trailer trash to camp. These are the same folks who buy airstreams and have them parked in there back yards as guest houses.
