I am looking at purchasing a dinghy. We don’t really need anything other than transportation for short day trips and such. I think I would like to have for wheels down but wonder which vehicles with manual transmissions are best. I have checked out the list of vehicles posted on several websites but I figured some of you veterans would have personal experience. Not really opposed to a dolly either.

Look at used Suzukis. There cheap, reliable, and a heck of good SUVs.

Is there a reason for wanting a manual? I know it opens up more for selection, but there are still some automatics that can be towed four down. I tow a Chevy Sonic (auto) and it pulls great, easy to hookup and unhook. Others have towed a Chevy HHR (auto) and liked it. And the Chevy Spark in manual has good reviews. Four wheels down is the way to go for convenience.
