Same story #2: Drunk driver did not believe in seat belts and as he went round the curve (West bound I-94 to North bound I-75) the door on his beater pick up opened and he fell out, Relative (to the last) minor road rash.
The truck went straight, over the curb, over the embankment and became airborn landing atop a car on I-75 below killing two people.... On this one I am the lucky ESO who got the 9-1-1 call from the AAA courtesy patrol driver who was behind the unlucky motorists upon who the pick up landed.. Poor man had to take a few days off to recover (I checked) (ESO = Emergency Services Operator or Police Dispatcher assigned to phones) .
Of course... When it comes to dumb/stupid, idiot drivers, In my job. you get to hear about/from many of them.
Sounds like this guy's life was saved by not wearing a belt in this case.
Had he used his seat belt I think we can assume he would have remained in the vehicle and not gone over the embankment. - skramsExplorer

- rickeoniExplorerI saw a new high on my drive home today. I was driving down the freeway going 90km (55mph) and saw a lady in a late model t-bird slumped over the steering wheel. Looked over to see what was happening, she was changing her pants and was steering by biting onto the steering wheel. All this with the top down and on a big curve on the road.
- DesertSpoonersExplorerWhen we left the campgrounds a few weeks ago, a whole family was brushing their teeth at the dump station...ewww!!! I do remember a funny story my dad used to tell. He was on the exit ramp slowing down and he looked over and some guy had a boat just like his. "Expletive", that boat looks just like mine. "Expletive", it is my boat! The trailer had come loose and was passing him on the left. The story is from the 1950s or 1960s so I never remember how it kept rolling. Dad is gone now, but we still laugh about that one.

Driving across from Lodi Ca to Fairfield on 12, it is under construction and mostly a 2 lane road. I didn't want to be too big of a rolling road block so when there was a climbing lane I would pull over and let traffic behind me pass. Well after a couple of climbing lanes I noticed the same car was still behind me. well when we gota area where there was 4 lanes he pulled past honking and making rude gestures. This idiot would slow down and not pass when he had the chance but was upset with me for slowing him up. I ran into several that did not know how to pass.

They missed that class. They were at the honking and yelling class that day. :B

Bill - LindsayRichardsExplorerWhen in the Napa Valley in our toad, I saw a lady screaming that her car alarm was going off and she couldn't stop it because her remote entry system wouldn't work. She was on the phone with her husband. She screamed for somebody to call 911. She had drawn quite a crowd. I asked her if I could help and asked to get her remote fob. Attached to the key fob was her car keys. I used one to unlock the door and put the key in the ignition. Alarm stopped. She told me she had forgotten the keys were actually on the key chain. I think this sort of thing happens a lot in CA.
