In Alaska the motorcycle operator isn't required to wear a helmet - but the passenger is. The operator doesn't need a helmet because forcing them to wear one would "infringe upon their personal freedoms". When I asked why requiring a helmet for the passenger didn't infringe on their personal rights also, no one could answer me. That's politicians for you....

Or seatbelts. Go figure, and it is a primary offense for many states. Must be the $$$.
