My current rims were limited to 50psi and the new tires are 65psi.

Those Marathons must be old as Goodyear hasn't made a B load range Marathon in many years. What is your trailers GVWR GVWR ??

The old B load range tire had capacities comparabile to a P tire so IMO you sure don't need a D or especially a E tire.

The D tire requires a 65 psi rated wheel.

The E tire requires a 80 psi rated wheel.

A ST 205/75-14 C has 1760 lbs of capacity times four = 7000 lbs.

I'm guessing but your B tires at 35 psi may have approx 1500 lbs capacity per tire times four = 6000 lbs.

IMO a C would be a good upgrade if the present wheels have the load and pressure needs.

My understanding is the Kumho are not st tires but are lt tires recommended for trailer use. They are not speed limited 65 mph and a good alternative to st may pops.

a1: Larry wanted "bling " and told his missus that he had to change the wheels because ( mistakenly ) there are some on this forum that claim that the standard wheels will not take 80 psi .
a2 : while he was at it he might as well upgrade to 4 modular 20 Al. rims , center caps , and chrome lug nuts .
a3 : the missus bought his story so he does not have to double his expense by allowing her to order new upholstery for his RV.
a4 : great tires such as kumho 857's have an even better resistance to failure when mounted on modular aluminum "rims" .

Probably because the tires Larry picked up had a higher load rating which his wheels did not meet. Wheels have load ratings too.

Just make sure they are ST tires.

I will never buy another set of Goodyears. Just too many problems on my cars and trucks.
