What ladder and size for inspection/repairs.

Heck, drones will be all over the world in a few years (unless your local Govt. makes them illegal). You can get one from Verizon for $299.

I am 6'3 by 320 pounds and I use a 14 foot extension ladder, I think the sticker rates it at either 250 or 300 (or rather did when it was readable) (Do not get a lesser ladder) however it holds me and occasionally tools and parts no problem.

Mine came from Sears and it is a "convertable" Turns into a step ladder if I'm working on the side of the house. It is my favorite ladder.

I removed the original roof ladder on the RV (it was junk anyway) and put a couple of "J" hooks (Basically a piece of diamond plate bumper metal bent into a"J" shape) up near the roof, They are held on with nice strong bolts (either hook can support me and more, the two of them together likely could hold a thousand pounds or more) they were made by my body and dent guy.

Near "eye level" as I stand on the ground is a Showere "Assist" Bar (Stainless steel grab bar sold in the bath and shower isle) the bottom of the ladder lies against that and is held on with a bicycle lock, Bungee cords and rope.

The ladder also holds a lawn cart we use to haul the laundry to the laundry room.

A Little Giant or equivalent Werner are excellent, I have 2 and I am 6' 3 1/2" 250lbs and they are rock solid. :)

Little Giant makes a ladder that has a double frame like a standard ladder where the steps are and a single inverted T for the opposite side. Both are adjustable from 5-9 feet and make is easy to have one side longer when dealing with stairs. It has no flex and is very stable.

I have three different Little Giant ladders and they are as well made a ladder as you can find. Not the cheapest but definitely the strongest and easiest to use.

Ok, so I will look at the adjustable step ladder/extension convertable type. What would be a good working size or length? I have seen one that is about 9 feet but they say 13 with you standing on it.

Redundant?

The little giant is so solid on the ground and makes an incredible extension ladder. My rv has a ladder rack on the rear so I hang it on it, locked in place with a heavy bicycle cable. I took the ladder to the local paint shop and they powder coated it to match the RV. They are not cheap but solid as anything you can buy. You can climb both sides of the ladder in the A frame mode. Take it apart and make a scaffold. At least go online and check them out. To get on my roof I can actually climb right onto the little giant from the ground and use it to get me to the rest of the built in ladder. In other words, I don't have to take it off to get on the roof. You can carry most of them in the back seat of a car. Try that with a fixed ladder.
