What mattress

Has anyone bought a NuForm quilted euro top 9" foam mattress or a Sedona Firm RV mattress 5.5"? I am looking to buy a new queen size for my RV, but get very confused when looking at all the ads. Your recommendation please. The mattress that came in the RV let's us feel the board underneath and get a back ache. This should be a general RVing issue not 5th Wheel. Not sure how I got to the :(wrong group.

  • We bought the memory foam mattress topper from Costco and love it!
  • After smashing the factory foam to matza thickness within a year, it was replaced with a "regular" house type mattress. No boxspring.
  • We replaced our junkie sleep number with a new gel memory foam mattress from Bed in a Box and we love it. We find it firm but also kind of soft. Definitely never will go back to a sleep number or regular mattress. We got the RV queen size and fit fine in the RV.

We had a sleep number at home, and in the Rv! We both like them, since you can pick the firmness of the mattress. I do not know about you, but the firmness for me can change depending on what I have been doing, so count me in for the sleep number beds!

    Same for us.
Only thing is the RV version with the rounded ends when we bought ours was a Camping World exclusive, not availible at the regular store.

5er mattress standard Queen, just go to the mattress store and buy the same mattress you have at home!!! If you full time, go find one you like and get it. :S
I would not buy a mattress without trying first.
  • We have a high end memory foam mattress in the house. The camper had a soft mattress and we put a memory foam topper on it. We moved the old topper to the new toyhauler with a very firm mattress. The old topper didn't help. We went to 4 or 5 different bed place on Saturday. None of them had a topper in stock. On;y samples. We just happened to go to Costco after the topper shopping and there was a bunch of them. All on sale. $109.00 on sale. The bed stores were all talking $199.00.
We haven't slept on it yet, but it felt very good.
  • FWIW, I just use a 2" foam topper on my regular mattress. It makes a big difference.
  • We have the NuForm 11" quilted pillow top mattress and love it. We got a great deal on it from overstock.com.

  • Moved to General RVing Issues forum from 5th wheel forum.
