Way more efficient solar panels (current panels are in the low 20's on percent efficiency), so that most modern RVs when drycamping could have air conditioning powered by the sun.
The best that money can buy are only 30%-35%.
If you want A/C, you will need more panels, a bigger battery bank and a bigger inverter.
Your above sentence is why my want list is for RV solar panels that are, say, 80% or more efficient ... so that a small motorhome, or TT, or 5th wheel could fit enough solar panels on their small roofs in order to be able to direcly run an air conditioner in the middle of the day without any contribution from batteries.
For what it's worth - as I understand it plants are well over 90% efficient at converting sunlight into whatever kind of energy it is that they produce.
P.S. Can you provide a link to a supplier of solar panels that are specified to be 30%-35% efficient in the common sizes suitable for installation on RV roofs? - BumpyroadExplorer

that's what a wife is for.

solar with the new li-ion battery suitcase.
side note. yes, insulation is important. I just added 1 inch to my roof's one inch foam insulation. made a big difference. - PA12DRVRExplorerFull size (i.e. residential -size) fridge / freezer.
For my prior use of mostly 1 -2 week stays at State Parks with connections to host family, this was the best feature of our 39' FW.

- naturistNomad1) stainless steel roof (NO rubber!!!!)
2) big solar and lots of solid state batteries
3) paid off (I LIKE this feature a LOT) - campiglooExplorerWe like ours with the opposing slides. We’ve looked around thinking it might be time to upgrade. What we’d like is get rid of that ridiculous island. What ever space is gained with slides is all but lost to the island.

Most RV owners do not seem to realize that having very good and very efficient insulation, high efficiency dual pane windows, having white to very light colored window shades/blinds/curtains, and having a very well sealed everywhere RV with a white exterior and roof or very lightly colored and kept clean means far less A/C cooling required and/or far less time used or needed. Darker sides and/or a dirty or darker colored roof absorbs heat from the Sun's rays big time and fights the insulation's effectiveness meaning more cooling BTU's are required.
What is effective in insulating for cooling is also just as effective for heating needs when in colder seasons or climates. Makes an RV so much more comfortable to be in during any season and sure does cut down a lot on noise from either the furnace or the A/C and saves lots of money at the same time. White or very light colors on the inside also make it brighter and seems to be larger.
Dual pane windows or storms with a larger separation between the glass panes give a lot more efficiency than close together glass panes. - dedmistonModeratorI'd like a smart controller to manage two of our three air conditioners. All we have now is a switch to toggle between the front sleeper and the rear garage, which means somebody is going to roast.

Bathroom needs to be large enough to move around in.
