One place that made me cry and remembering it can still bring tears to my eyes was the Oklahoma City bomb site memorial We saw it in 2007. It was so solemn and so sad and so beautiful. I think more than anything it was seeing the granite chairs placed to the left side on levels corresponding to where each person died....but it was most especially the smaller chairs that memorialized the children killed there.I still get a lump in my throat when I tell someone about it. My eyes are watering now as I write this. And of course seeing the 9/11 site about 6 months after it happened. We were in NYC at the end of October 2001 but we decided to wait and see it at another time.
