Left Yellowstone via the East entrance (US14) about 5-6 years back. We were not on a deadline so I was going slow and enjoying the scenery. Saw this state parks n rec sign on the side of the road that that said Shell Falls 1/4 mile. I turned to DW and said do you want to check that out? She said sure. It was the best impromptu stop we have ever made. The falls are not really all that visible from the road but it sets just off the highway. We parked and took their short walking trail. Beautiful waterfall and easy to get great pictures there. I pay closer attention to those little state parks n recs signs now.
