Im with old guy. Oregon has three totally different regions with totally different climates. Coast, best to visit late August to mid October. Valley, anytime after July 5th. Centeral and Eastern Oregon, all summer. Being high desert regions it can get pretty hot in late July and August. Valley is mostly farm lands, but is a quick trip to the coast or mountains. There is still lots to see and do. Central has caving, lava flows, cinder cones, and fewer people. We have places like Crater Lake, Oregon Caves, historic Jacksonville, great logging museum, funky dining. We camp host during the summer for the state park system, and can tell you you will enjoy your visit to our wonderful diverse state. Just be prepared to make reservstions ahead of time. The state parks fill up early. Let us know your time frame and length of time you can give us. Will be glad to offer some suggestions on sites and places.
Thanks for the good info, and once we get a better idea of when we can go I'll touch base with you again for more details. Kind of in a whirlwind of events right now with Christmas and family emergencies to tend to.
