I've been in Oregon since I was 11. We moved to eastern Oregon in fall of '67, and I've yet to cover all the roads in this great state.
The first place that came to my mind when I read the initial post was the
Painted Hills Unit:
The Steens/Alvord desert area, one of our stops on
our crazy 1500 mile in 3 day runAnd of course, the Oregon Dunes:
Rafting the Deschutes, among many other rivers:
where I spent some time underwater:
Silver Falls, as someone mentioned, and one of my favorties - Salt Creek Falls:
And there's a lot of natural and commercial hot springs - here's a couple of snaps of Summer Lake:
Oh, the gorgeous Gorge, and on and on and on.
But all of these have been mentioned.... but hey you get the idea.
Washington has no shortage of sights such as the full size Stonehenge replica, which is a memorial to WWI veterans:
But wait! There's more!! Check out Idaho, and the rest of the great NorthWest.
Montana -
Glacier National Park:
And lots of other places. Get out here and enjoy!!!
