My only complaint about visiting Oregon is that you are not allowed to pump your own fuel at gas stations. The attendants aren't the brightest bulbs in the string and they could care less about your vehicle. I have had them overfill my tank many times with gas running down the side of my truck, gotten yelled at because I opened the fuel door, had them pump the higher cost premium fuel claiming that's what I requested, and the list goes on. It's a stupid law you have to deal with in Oregon...hate it!
Their gun laws are another problem, but that's another story. They do have nice scenery......
Only applies to gasoline. One more reason to get a diesel truck . . ..:B
only applies to CERTAIN gasoline fillups.
1) smaller towns have self serve either after hours or all day. very common now and legal.
2) Antique/special interest vehicles are exempt... I do self serve on my SL500 roadster without any issues.
3) Motorcycles are exempt.
4) AFAIK filling boats, even at a regular gas station is exempt, although you then pay road tax. See this quite often in the summer.
And yes diesel is exempt. more than once I've had some other person waiting for a fillup tell me I couldn't selve serve my truck. I just kept going till the pump jockey corrected them.
The one nice thing about the oregon situation is you virtually NEVER have someone pulling up, getting out, going in for coffee etc. and blocking an island. Pump jockeys jump on them REAL quick and make them move.
