    This has been show before and it's a combination of too much stuff added to the back (not fasten down) resulting in not enough tongue weight. Also not putting on just the trailer brakes to get more tongue weight and pulling on the truck which will act like a sway control. Are you sure he did not have sway as a single friction sway might not be enough.

    I'm surprised how well the trailer fared.
  • Wow......never saw brake lights on the TT! Never attempted to slow or just not hooked up ? Also wonder about speed, but no way to tell. Anyway, check your loads and equipment, slow down and keep yourself, your family, and other families out there safe!

  • Sadly this kind of thing happens every day somewhere. Really makes a good case for requiring true sway control hitch systems. Friction is not enough. Especially when you want to tow that fast....
