"If I had my druthers" basically means "If I could make things the way I wished them to be." I believe it derives from "I'd rather." - VeebyesExplorer III want the wild animals to be where I am when I am there & I want them to pose so I can get good pictures of them.
- AJBertExplorerLess people around where ever I set up camp, and I don't do campgrounds.
- John_JoeyExplorerClean, landscaped, private sites, concrete patio, cable TV, and good wifi. We don't camp, we PT.
- Corky12ExplorerNo dogs, no generators.
- SuGar_ShackExplorerSorry. I guess you're not from Oklahoma! Druthers just sorta means choices.
- CavemanCharlieExplorer IIII sometimes like to dry camp in places that are quiet and spaced well apart from everyone else. Very few places like that in my area.
What's a Druthers ? - ctilsie242Explorer III'd like a few tiers of places:
When on the road and needing to crash, something like a parking lot with wide spaces (like how Costcos have lines to ensure that there is space for cars and shopping carts.) Big parking lot, perhaps a 24 hour store, and fenced in so there is some restriction of access in and out.
When looking for FHU (I like going to full hookups every few days so I can dump and rinse the tanks at my own leisure), space between the campgrounds. This way, the class "A" with the telescoping slideouts is well away from my rig.
At a destination CG, it would be nice if there is separation. The yipping dogs go onto the pooch loop. The kids go onto the kiddie circle. The drunks with the inflatable theater and the extra large speakers go to the party place, leaving a section for quiet camping, with this enforce. Yipping dog? Move to the yapping section, or move on down the road.
Another thing that is nice, are laundry machines that can take a credit/debit card. That way, I don't have to worry about tokens or yet another card to lose. Just swipe, dump my clothes in, hit start, and go from there.
It also doesn't hurt to have a library in the laundromat, or at least a "give a book, take a book" service. - NYCgrrlExplorer

I would like more nature, critters and other cool wildlife.
Better bike paths to local attractions and hiking trails around the campgrounds.
Also maybe a local farmers market at the campground. It would be nice to support the local farmers and crafty folk.
How about a shuttle service to local attractions?
All ideas X2 - snowcrustracerExplorerI would like more nature, critters and other cool wildlife.
