Thanks for that info 6.7. A friend of mine just received his CCP and said the course instructor made a BIG deal about drawing the line between personal safety and property. The example was if you are in your vehicle and somebody pulls the door open and attempts a car-jacking, you can shoot the guy because he is endangering your personal safety. But if you come outside your house to see somebody has hot wired your car and is ready to drive away, you CANNOT shoot them because your personal safety is not at risk, you can easily go back inside to safety.
If you re-read the statute you quoted again, it talks about trespass, robbery, burglary or other felony using force, in a dwelling, the intent being that if someone is unlawfully entering the premises either where you live or have been hired to protect you have a right to use force to protect yourself.
I agree with some of the previous posts, if the kid kicks in the door, then shoot. If you look through the window and see him outside carrying your BBQ away, shoot him and you'll wind up in jail.
