I carry a lot less today than I did 40 years ago. We went to Yellowstone from Detroit Area in '72. A wire in the trailer plug shorted out the turn signals and burned out the TS switch. I got a police escort to the Lincoln Mercury dealer and they said they couldn't replace it until the next day. I asked if I could do it in their parking lot. They said it takes a steering wheel puller. I had one in my tool box and changed the TS switch on my Lincoln in their lot. DW & 2 kids went shopping in the mall that was there and that actually cost more than the repair I did. Today I carry a lot smaller tool box and a good credit limit on the Credit card.
