With all these beautiful but tough drives you guys are doing, why all the commotion about one of our favorites - Red Mountain Pass/Million Dollar Hwy/Hwy 550 between Silverton and Ouray, CO? It's a baby at only 7% tops! :)
We've done both of the above in our 5th wheel and motorhome. Love those kinds of drives for the scenery. Of course, both of us have to drive them so the other doesn't feel left out.
Steep doesn't bother me as much as long, those 6% grades that take all day, over heating the truck was my big problem.
