Back in 83 we were on an around the country trip and drove up to the gate of a state park late on a Sunday afternoon. We came down off the highway and could see the whole park was empty. We pulled up to the ranger station only to be informed by the ranger they they were full. When I asked how that could be as there were no rv's in the park his reply was the city folks reserve the sites and then do not show up. Now that is crazy.....my thought would be only reserve a certain number of sites then make the rest first come first serve......
