Go when it's getting cooler than you like, but before you have to winterize the MH to get there.
Go after hunting season is over.
Go after you have everything winterized around the house.
Go before hit snows.
Go when you feel like it - you're retired, enjoy the trip, don't make a rush of it - move south as it gets cooler.
