When it's not a 'traditional' cache, apparently. I have an abundance of Diamond Willow Walking/Hiking sticks and was stuck for what to do with them. A bud suggested leaving one in places that I camp...and I thought..what a great idea! So..I expanded on it a bit and now have begun leaving a Diamond Willow Walking/Hiking stick in places that have some sort of connection for me. I take the GPS co-ordinates and post that on a Blog I have put up just for the purpose.http://comefindit.blogspot.ca/I had submitted the cache to Geo-cache dot com , but they have declined. we each have two sticks
our 'TALL' Chinese sticks cost me $6 each

our two redwood sticks, are freebies, made from old branches picked up in Sequoia forest of King's Canyon

Ahhh...maybe the one from China is advertised as oak but is really bamboo? :)

You could just leave it at a geo-cache site as a trade item.

When a Geocache is published, it is not supposed to be taken away. It is to stay in place so many Geocachers can find it and sign its log sheet. Otherwise, many people would be trying to find a nonexistent cache.

As noted above, why not just include a can with typical geocache items along with the notice that the first person who found it, also found the walking stick. That way the cache is legit and the walking stick find is still there for you to enjoy and track.

Thought he said it is NOT a geocache. Not that I care. Don't need one to sit in the trailer to watch TV. But when I need it, it might help me to get up off the toilet.
