RV'ing is seldom the cheapest way to go. In the end the only way to get value out of your RV is to use it. I use my RV as much as possible. Just using it creates value!

Sounds like the big advantage to the cabin is so you can arrive after dark....what not arrive after dark in the RV? Have done that plenty of times.
Also consider adjusting how you camp...instead of bringing all the camping gear and the kitchen sink that you might typically set up when you arrive, just bring what you need. Maybe you don't need the big BBQ and all the cooking gear if you're not hanging around the CG.
If we know we'll be rolling in late to a CG, we plan in advance to have an "inside meal"....either sandwiches, or something DW has made in advance like a stew or casserole that we can just reheat. Set up is unhitching, connecting utilities, and leveling only...no outside BBQ, furniture, campfire on that first night. Eat, watch a little TV (or play a game, etc.) then bedtime.
Just because you bring the RV doesn't mean you "have to" do the whole camping thing, use as it differently based on the schedule/situation.
