The overcharging isn't the retailer in this case (different subject), but rather the credit card company. Their interest rates, penalty fees, etc. are ridiculous these days. And while I can pay off my card each and every month thereby denying them my money, they overcharge others with those high interest rates, unrealistic penalties, etc. in order to compensate what they don't make off of me. Why would I use a card that sticks it to my neighbor? I'd rather have the credit card company drop the interest rate for everyone and dump the points. But, I know that my opinion is not the majority opinion and isn't going to happen.
