There are major differences between Debit Cards and Credit Cards. Have a Debit Card clobbered and your money is gone from your account and you have to go through the process and wait for them to replace the money taken.
Have a Credit Card clobbered and you tell the bank that those are not your charges and you do not pay them. And they remove them!!!
Many consumer groups are aware of the major difference and advise against debit cards.
