True, there is nothing wrong with burning some oil...but, it should not burn oil. maybe a bit when working hard, I`ll go as far as saying up to a half quart in 3k miles.
Does this mean that my Excursion has a problem because it doesn`t use any oil? Or my old 97 Dodge van with the 5.9L and 120K miles that towed a 6500lb TT out to Glacier NP at 3k RPM for 3500 miles had an issue, it used less than a half quart! or everyone else that has a truck/car that doesn`t use any oil has a problem? bottom line is if an engine is working properly it will not use much, if any oil. there is a small percentage of vehicles using an excess amount of oil and those are the ones with a problem!
I don`t care what the manuf. say. I`ve gotten the same thing when I went to school for Chrysler. yet I only seen a handful that used oil, and fixed them!
