We always carry from $200 to even $1000 each and several Credit cards on our persons. Most of the time the higher amounts are in an under our outer clothes nylon money belt around our waist. Can't be seen and easy to get to and only us knows it's there. In my wallet or her purse is usually under $200 and one credit card each when in or going to a suspect area. We have cash with us for any thing we want to buy that doesn't accept Credit cards. Never had any problems even it foreign countries or 3rd world countries. Having U.S. currency talks big as every vendor will bargin/barter much better when paying with greenbacks.
Ordered nearly all our RV's with a steel fireproof safe bolted directly to the frame secured with hardened tack welded carriage thru bolts up with the nuts inside the safe. Some, I'd mounted myself. In a fire with an RV, the floor near a corner away from propane lines etc remains the coolest area and an area so easy to keep even cooler by spraying water on it. Heat rises!
