- Jack_Diane_FreeExplorerNot trying to be smart or insulting. But why would one carry enough cash that this would be a worry. I carry my cash in my pocket and use debit for just about everything.
- filthy_beastExplorerI have a safe in my rv and truck and have other areas to stash also. We carry cash as our credit cards have been compromised while on vacation, oddly enough not by anyplace we used them. We even had the bank that issued our card go belly up so the card quit working in the middle of our vacation. We never give our card at a restaurant where they take it to the register and bring it back for you to sign the receipt, to easy for them to copy the number and security code. Our cards never leave our sight!
- downtheroadExplorerThis is one of the best threads so far this year...
I'd certainly enjoy camping next to a whole bunch of the fun folks who have posted so far.
We could all sit under the awning and discuss some more creative solutions... - GordonThreeExplorer

Where is a good hiding place for money, passports, etc. in the RV?
I hide mine inside a small piece of plastic, about 2" x 3". There is a magnetic strip on the back that is able to transform paper into electrons, and back again, like something from a sci-fi movie.
My passport, well, I don't take it traveling very often, but it stays with my wallet and magic plastic cards, on my person. - TenOCNomad

I very seldom have more than $100.00 cash and that may last me a month or so. You can purchase a $5.00 hamburger with credit card. . . :R . . . I "restock" with cash back from purchased made with my debit card. It has been months (maybe a year) since I have been in a bank. - DutchmenSportExplorerOur strategy is to leave $10.00 in open site. The rest is tucked way, divided out, put in different places. We have some panels that can be removed, and we carry some, and some stays in the truck, and there are several places in the truck we can use.
If someone breaks in, we leave an easy target. They can grab the exposed cash and run. Maybe they won't destroy the rest of the camper that way searching. If it's that valuable, it stays home! We have no need to travel with a passport. But if we do, they travel right with us, just like our billfolds. - Dutch_12078Explorer IIAs others have said, we carry only fairly small amounts of cash, and use debit/credit cards for most things. With a debit card, cash is readily available at ATM's, Walmart, etc., as needed. We do have a fire resistant lock box bolted to the floor in a not very obvious location where we keep important papers. All of the papers are also scanned or photographed, with the encrypted files archived online.

Inside the black tank. As an added benefit, the loose change breaks up the stuff in there when I'm driving.
I do the same....quarters work best at breaking up stuff but dimes works best at cleaning the probes...
