- YWORRYDOGExplorerI made a small opening in the bench seat plywood. Back behind where the drawer stops was a spot to install a small locking safe box on the floor. You have to remove the cushion and then open the wood door that I made then get a flash light and you will see the locked safe box fastened to the floor. Thought that may keep things safe if there is an accident also.
- VeebyesExplorer III spread mine around. Mostly I hide it in places like Lowes, Walmart, various markets & fuel stations all over.
- Bears_DenExplorerIf I told you, then it wouldn't be a hiding place anymore. Really, I use a debit card and charge cards when I travel. Besides I usually don't have any because I'm too busy paying those that don't work but still want the nice stuff that I work for. Sorry if I offended anyone but I've never been known to be politically correct.
- Happy_ProspectoExplorerJust a couple of hidey places I have seen are under the bottom drawer is usually a goodly amount of space to "hide" things and if you pull out the top drawer and look at the bottom side of the cabinet top, it is a good place to Velcro stuff there also.
Good Luck----The Information is out there, all you have to do is let it in. - LuckeyUsExplorerWe charge almost everything, debit cards are a big no-no, & we don't carry more money than we can afford to lose, but we don't want to make it easy for a thief to find. I expected some funny responses, and these are hysterical, thanks!
P.S. Been lucky in life & love & now wanderlust, but our money is hard earned. - WalabyExplorer IIGenerally speaking, I keep virtually no cash, preferring credit card or debit card. If I do carry cash, I keep it with me at all times. I have a friend, we call him "George", that helps protect my cash. So far, he's been able to accompany me on all my trips. There will be some he won't be able to travel on, so I will have to be even more vigilant. But, I never, leave cash in my trailer, and I never, leave George alone in the trailer. He is either allowed to be with me, or stays home.

Where is a good hiding place for money, passports, etc. in the RV?
I see your 'screen name' is LuckyUs. If that's so, why do you have to hide it? You seem to be lucky so no one is going to take it. :)
As full-timers we had no need to hide money either. We each kept $100 or less on ourselves and it lasted for many months. We always use a credit card for everything and pay it off completely each month - no interest, so it's just like using cash. Our credit card also gives us cash back for using it which is a free gift. It's so easy not to have to bother with cash. Even McDonalds takes credit cards.
As far as a 'fireproof' safe, they aren't - really. Friends were involved in a fire and their safe was in the bedroom. It was supposed to be fireproof but RV fires get very hot. They had nothing but ashes left.
We just kept a 'to go' case behind the chair by the front door with our passport, etc. It was easy to grab to take with us if needed. I guess we never worried about theft. Really, how many folks that you know have been robbed in their RV? We also boondocked way out in the middle of nowhere. Never had any cause for concern. - GordonThreeExplorer

I carry no apocalypse money.
The apocalypse seems to have already happened according to the frequent safety / security threads. - 2oldmanExplorer III carry no apocalypse money.
- RoyBExplorer III always liked the idea of a lock box mounted in the floor perhaps inside a closet door area.
Of course that is a bad place to keep your firearms however - Would take too long to get them out to use in an emergency...
You would be best to use a 751 key on your lock box then when you misplace the key your neighbor camper will most likely have one you can borrow...
We keep all of our valuables in the truck area. Our truck has the push button door access so that allows all of use to gain entrance real easy when needed...
