Sounds like you're about out of options....about the only thing left is a Yakima or other rack on top of the Fusion with a cargo basket or something to lash the trike to. Although if this is the trike you are looking at, 63 lbs isn't easy to hoist onto the roof of the Fusion....
Option B would be to trade in the Fusion for an Escape or similar toad where you could fold down the seats and make room for the trike inside.
Option C would be to lose the bike rack on the back of the Fusion in favor of towing a small cargo trailer that would fit 3 bikes and a trike. Not sure what NC laws are regarding double towing.
Seriously, if it won't fit in, on, or around the MH, then you are stuck looking at a solution involving the toad....
OR
The DiBlasi Folding Trike would solve your issues because it collapses side-to-side in addition to front-to-back, so would fit in the back seat of the Fusion....but at $2000 not a cheap solution either.
