Sounds too cold for me, but lots to be thankful for. - NamMedevac_70Explorer IIFishing, fishing, fishing on Sacramento River delta and SF bay area. After many years RV travel including some fulltime, I now enjoy carefree basic comforts of home when not on fishing trips to California. Cheers to common sense.
- rk911Explorerstaying home, just the two of us. we have a small turkey breast (2.75 lbs), mashed taters, green beans, green peas, rolls, cranberry sauce and peach pie for dessert.
- cptqueegExplorer IIWe're at home enjoying a visit with our kid, skiing, and later a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
- JRscoobyExplorer IIBecause of a hard to get appointment Wed afternoon we can't leave until Thursday morning. But Friday will start the fire early to make biscuits and gravy for breakfast. When dishes done, put the bird in the biggest Dutch Oven. As it gets closer to done other ovens, come on line, with all the rest of feast. The last oven holds a pie, and rolls. When rolls are done we, and anybody in CG that looks to be alone, and wants to set down to eat. Normally the pie is done about the time I finish dishes.
BTW, 3 camp ovens and another without legs live in camper. This trip we add 4 camp ovens and another legless one. - Tom_BarbExplorerKids/G/kids coming to G/ma house like always. :)
- EricKimExplorerAt home with my big family, and a big meal
- Nv_GuyExplorer IIIStaying home, cousin and his wife joining us. Keeping it simple w. turkey and the fixings.
- pbeverlyNomadHeading to Edisto Beach SP, SC and will be there from Wed - Mon. We did this two years ago and it was great. There is a local restaraunt that does a really good take-out Thanksgiving dinner that we pick up Wed and reheat on Thursday. We really didn't have high hopes for it last time but it was REALLY good. Turkey was nice and moist, not dried out. Each item is packaged separately with very specific reheating directions for each item.
We do a get-together with our kids earlier in the month, even if we are in town. We started doing this to remove complications from their lives. It takes us out of the equation that day of figuring out where to go and who to invite. There is enough drama already.
