Where to leave trailer for a day while traveling

stop at a church and ask.. I,ve overnighted at a few. even got a invite to supper. and plugged in for the evening. I,m not a church goer ,but found them to be very nice people.

That's a really good idea... Hmmm. Honestly the safest place probably.

Um... A campsite?

I've had some nice campsite owners let me park it out in an unused field after check-out time so I could go see the city. At another place, I was taking a bus tour, and the bus company called a hotel that they do a lot of business with, and the hotel let me park it out back. In that case, they had some incentive to do this, as we wouldn't have been able to take the tour ($$$)

Seriously, spring for the few bucks it will cost in a CG. It'll probably be 10% or less of what you'll spend in SF.

Many campgrounds and motels will let you drop a trailer. Some motels will even let you do a few hours sleep in their lots. But you have to call ahead.

San Francisco? Do not drive your own vehicle in SF or surrounding municipalities. Been there, done that. It's crazy there, worst place I ever drove. Park your vehicle somewhere and take public transportation.

For us, after spending a day anyplace, it is good to come home to an RV that is hooked up and ready for cooking, showering, and sleeping.

Use a campground close to SF.

If you are only planning to spend a couple hours in SF you will be wasting time and money.

I can see spending at least two days in SF.

The Golden Gate bridge is at least a 1/2 day.

Um... A campsite?

If he's not going to spend the night in the area, why spend the money?

Try any local Elks facility as well.
