My dog has the whole back seat of truck, built up so he can look out the window or lie down. On the floorboard, up to the seat level, I have "stuff" stored.
Rearrange stuff or board then looks like only 2 options to me.
I agree with you on this. I have a crew cab truck took out the back seat and stored it in the garage for reinstallation. I built a platform and use dog beds on top of it for the Collies. I can store stuff under the platform. The Collies are about 95# each.
If your cargo is people then it becomes more of a problem.
