Which GPS

Howdy!

I gave up on stand alone gps years ago and started using Co-Pilot gps app on my tablet and smartphone. Works great and it also has aRV setting I use. If you own a tablet with gps or a smartphone I see no need to purchase a stand alone gps.

Garmin RV 760 LMT, its worked great for us. We first bought the McNally Rand, broke in short order, we replaced it with a Magellan, it lasted less time than the rand. The 760 has been running for two years, just remember to attach to the internet and get updates often.

I know I'll probably get a back-lash here, but I've had the same Tom-Tom now for about 8 or 9 years. We do the map uploads once a year, and other than taking you down a road that turns out to be flooded (we laughed about that for a couple years), it's still dependable, reliable, and by far the easiest and the best we've used. Used with a paper map, you can't beat it! Now Google maps comes in right on par with Tom-Tom, but ... I-phone Google Maps also costs bandwidth data on your phone. Not such a good deal when you use your phone a lot. Tom-Tom is still our best, going strong after all these years, and we use as recently as yesterday coming home Sunday afternoon after camping the week-end.

Stick with old stand-by's and forget new-age technology and gizmos that are designed to break down after a year so you have to buy a new one! Dig that Tom-Tom out of the closet and plug it in!

I cannot state it better than any of the others have already done, get the garmin.

Had had various Garmins for years and have yet to be let down, be it the one I used on my motorcycle, car, or LM 760 LT in the motorhome.

You learned a lesson about Magellan that some of the rest of us learned previously.

Get a Garmin.

We have the Garmin 2797LMT which has the 7" screen, free lifetime maps, traffic detour alerts, etc. etc. and have been very satisfied. You may want to do some research on this Garmin model but overall I would recommend the 2797.

I like Garmin. Smaller screen but she talks REALLY LOUD and I am kind of hard of hearing. I have three they are very reliable

I would do a search on the forum. There have been a lot of threads on this recently with a lot of good information.
