Which is safer, truck / trailer or motorhome?
I just posted a very similar post to the class A forum and realized I'll probably get skewed results there in favor of the Class A motorhome so I thought I'd ask in a more neutral forum. So moderator...

I would suspect a truck towing a trailer would be safer. However, it would depend on the truck. If you were towing a trailer with a 1 ton or larger truck safety is on your side. As size goes down I think safety goes down. When that truck stops the trailer is going to come crashing into it as hitches break under heavy loading. These new mini half ton and smaller trucks aren't much safer that a MH. Naturally a MH with nothing in front would seem to be more dangerous in an accident. DPs may be safer because some have more in front like the generator etc. RVs fall apart on impact.
