I've read many posts on this forum from satisfied Honda CRV and Jeep owners.
We tow a Suzuki Grand Vitara which we love. Our second car is a Honda CRV (not set up to tow) which we also love. Before the GV we towed an older Chevy Tracker which was also great for us. Found both cars on craigslist, both already had baseplate installed.
