That number is as-delivered curb weight and doesn't account for so much as a can of soup in the trailer. Your actual weight may well be a thousand pounds or more over that.
As said before, you need to weigh the rig loaded for travel and adjust tongue weight accordingly. You're very likely running too light a tongue. That can't be compensated for by W/D hitch adjustment, by the way. For stability purposes, the actual weight has to be at the ball BEFORE redistribution via W/D.
