I actually find it helpful to know what category someone is in. If they are asking for campgrounds in Northern California, I would recommend different places (whether KOA, RV Park, or NF campgrounds, etc.) depending on their type of RV use.
Not long ago, someone posted about buying an older used motorhome to travel thousands of miles within about 2-3 months of buying it. My answer to them was completely different than my answer to someone posting about buying an older used motorhome to go camping on weekends within 500 miles of home. And it would be different than my answer to someone wanting to live in the RV for extended periods of time.
I know I'm in the minority in how I use my RV and what I want from it. I read a lot of posts offering recommendations with a grain of salt because the posters have a completely different take on their RV lifestyle. It's not judgement, it's knowing your audience.
