Not uncommon to see truck campers sitting on side of road waiting for proper sized truck. One of the under passes where they set up is a couple miles from our place. They seem to set up 4 or 5 times per summer, mostly long weekends. They are also checking BCers for their house trailer endorsement.
BC is the only province in Canada where your GVWR is legally enforced.
