But after being an RVer all our lives and being on this forum for a # of years, we just plain figure it's not worth it to run tires much over 3 yrs. Face it....how old they are has NOTHING to do with how long they last.....how much you move them around and USE them affects the tires. And I hate sitting on the side of the road while DH changes tires.....why stress it, buy new tires every 3 yrs.caberto wrote:
DOT code 5009, means that tire was almost five years old, at the the far end of, or past, its life expectancy, and traveling at 70 mph, above the 65mph ST tires are rated for, probably caused overheating which didn't help either. Glad you were able to complete your trip without further incident. Thanks for sharing and the heads up.
Can you point me in a direction where a manufacture or tire retailer states that the tire life is 4.5 years? Everything that I have found states 7 - 10 years (although I do replace at 5).
