This weekend ,Oct10-13, is Thanksgiving here in Canada. Some of my cousins go camping for the weekend and cook Thanksgiving dinner at the campground. There will be 16 adults and 5 kids for the weekend and 5 joining us for dinner on Sunday. Then the 2 of us are camping for the rest of the week by ourselves.
Going to try a couple Provincial parks that are difficult to get into during "peak" camping season, and that also stay open later than most Provincial parks.
Weatherman better get his act together for Oct 10th to 20th.
we have camped after Thanksgiving weekend for a few years now, usually good weather, but we pay on a day to day basis so if the weather gets too wet we can head home or off to another of our favourite haunts.
We don,t usually have the campground to ourselves because the Prov. Parks that stay open cater to the fishermen that fish into the lake from shore. But like you said no children around, gives the campground a quieter atmosphere.
We are planning on heading out also....we will be looking for a large family cooking a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner in the wilderness. Of course this family will not object to the 2 extra 3rd cousins, twice removed (and to be removed once more,LOL) :B enjoying the feast with you!
Have a great week, if you run into the TT with the bear on the side, pop in, there might be pumpkin pie with fresh cream left :)
