Who still has vacation plans?

Just curious, as we will be going on vacation in a week. It is just the wife and I now, no kids to worry about (Yahoo!!!). We have been taking a week in October for the last 4-5 years. With most kids back in school we find the campgrounds much quieter. Weather is usually great, not to hot not to cold.
Going to Roaring River State Park. Gonna catch me some trout!!! Maybe take a day trip to Branson to take Momma shoppin. Also going to War Eagle Arkansas festival one day. Can't wait!!!
  • We're on a "vacation" again presently and up in the U.P. of Michigan for a week and a half or two doing our annual colored leaf peeping. Being retired for the 15th year now, we don' have a clew what a "real vacation" is like because every day is better than a "vacation"! 2 more "vacations" planned before the end of the year and then the long "vacation" on our annual trip to Florida for a couple months. Then back home o do some more "vacationing". Sure beats werk'in!
  • We are Oregonians and camp well into November and take up again January or Feb. Honestly some of our most fun is after Labor day as the crowds thin our and a different kind of camper remains. Sometimes cold, sometimes rain, once in a while snow. Always a great time. To answer your question yes, goin out next weekend.
  • None until next May.

We are both retiring May 1 2015. We are taking as little vacation time as possible between now and then, because unused vacation time is paid out as a lump sum at separation. That should be a nice little $8k bonus to help fund some future trips. :)

Well we four season camp, but not yet full timers!

Thanksgiving no family at home, just daughters whime We may go to Old Stone Village, do some wine tasting.

New year will be spent somewhere on the Coast, likely South Beach or Beverly Beach.
  • What a bummer, I haven't had a vacation this century. I retired in 99, haven't had any overtime either.

Going to Alabama, something about cars going around in circles. Then have reservations for 3 months at CG in Florida after some fat guy does a fly by.

Oh well, what with all the projects I have on hold, I probably wouldn't have time for a vacation anyway.
  • Next week its northern AZ, early Nov. southern AZ, late Nov. California Wine country. Maybe another weekend here and there in between.
  • This weekend ,Oct10-13, is Thanksgiving here in Canada. Some of my cousins go camping for the weekend and cook Thanksgiving dinner at the campground. There will be 16 adults and 5 kids for the weekend and 5 joining us for dinner on Sunday. Then the 2 of us are camping for the rest of the week by ourselves.
Going to try a couple Provincial parks that are difficult to get into during "peak" camping season, and that also stay open later than most Provincial parks.
Weatherman better get his act together for Oct 10th to 20th.
we have camped after Thanksgiving weekend for a few years now, usually good weather, but we pay on a day to day basis so if the weather gets too wet we can head home or off to another of our favourite haunts.
We don,t usually have the campground to ourselves because the Prov. Parks that stay open cater to the fishermen that fish into the lake from shore. But like you said no children around, gives the campground a quieter atmosphere.
  • we're full time RVers and we have lots of vacation plans.

2015 while in mexico for the winter (west coast) we're flying to Cozumel(east coast) for the week in January.
2016 cruise out of florida to carribbean.
already paid for most of it.
