I don't find the guy in the video to be an idiot. I think he represents Americans in general who are fed up with being over-taxed, not earning decent wages, hacked off at the older generation who got lucky, and I don't think he has an ax to grind.
Someone said that no one bats an eye at people who spend $200,000 for an rv. I don't believe that for a second. I love rving, I won't ever have a $125,000 rv or a million dollar home. For me it's not about the money or pleasure, it's about all the good things I can do for others and enjoy myself at the same time. A lot of full timers put their life savings into their motorhome and that's okay but it's not what the majority thinks about it. People like to feel secure, whether that security exists or not.
One thing the video guy doesn't take into account is that if people didn't buy the $125,000 rvs, then others wouldn't have the opportunity to buy used. I say buy used, we never buy depreciating assets new. I like to let someone else pay for the majority up front and when they don't want it anymore, I'll be glad to do a little cleaning and repair and put the rest of the money in the bank.
The only other thing I have to say is, that silly expression of "if you can't afford it maybe you shouldn't do it" is the most arrogant and elitist expression I have ever heard.
