Many pensions are only paying out at the 3 or low-4 digit dollar level per month. Try amassing enough cash to buy an RV outright with that kind of income.

Now add the above two monthly incomes together and still try to amass enough cash to buy an RV outright with that kind of combined income.
By the way, what I mean by "RV" is something high priced and new enough so as to not be an antique that needs TLC constantly. Even retired RV'ers sometimes have other things to share their time with besides unending tweaking of a fixer-upper RV.
