To me having someone sit at my table while Im packing to leave is hassling me. I wouldn't appreciate that in the slightest. Nor would I appreciate someone helping me pack.
I've never ran into this phenomenon. Must be more prevalent on very popular sites. Unless I have a long drive ahead of me, I generally get up, putz around a bit, relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, eat breakfast etc.. then get packed and pull out right around check out time.
