Not meaning to jack this thread, but was curious if it is the WD hitch or the SWAY Control that is doing the most for people in the improved handling of the rig. Seems a lot of people talk about sway when discussing the need for a WD hitch and I always thought it was sway control that was most needed to prevent sway, and WD to prevent porpoising.
I dont run as heavy a rig as some of you, have an older 23 foot TT set up for dry camping, weight runs about 4k and I pull it with a 2012 Titan Pro 4x rated for 9k. I have had sway at times when going downhill and not using the sway control, just tap the brakes a bit (has trailer brakes) and things straightened out, I have not used the WD portion of the hitch yet, but even when loaded my truck only squats about 3 inches, and the front only moves about half an inch - probably due to it setting tail high when not loaded.
I am not against WD or SC hitches, and I have the option on my rig to add on the WD portion along with the SC bar, just had not felt porpoising on my rig so didn't thing it was necessary.
Please explain or point me to someplace that explains the flaw in my logic in this matter.
Thanks
