Barney, the OP does not have a large heavy rig. He is talking about a 1 ton towing a 7K trailer.
Sorry Barney but Sundance went the wrong way, at least with "my" setup.
With "my" setup he would transferred MORE weight to the front in a panic stop. Wrong way to go. It will depend on the angle of the hitch on the trailer whether it picks up on the front end of the truck or pushes it down.
Like I said in my first post. There is a reason engineers want to have a 50/50 weight bias on great handling vehicles. There is a reason people put sandbags in their trucks. They want all the tires to do the same amount of work.
People that have WD's on heavy pickups with a light trailer (like me) are not doing themselves and favors if they transfer a ton of weight to the front. It's already there!
