I suppose if I found a package of cigarettes without the warning label that they would be okay to smoke? Corporations, and some people, learn as they go along. Since the basic configuration of a pickup truck has not changed in my lifetime, I think one can learn from GM (and Ford's) updated information. I doubt that they are going to go back and republish owner's manuals for a 1965 C-10, or put warning labels on museum artifacts. It took a lot of thinking for GM and Ford to change their minds and I don't think they took it lightly (pun intended, for those that get such things)
